Optimised TE01 to TE02 Mode Converter
A computer optimised circular TE01 to TE02 mode converter design(Figure 1) is described here. The waveguide profile is defined in terms of cubic spline coefficients whose values are determined by an optimiser. TE01 to TE02 mode conversion is computed by mode matching during the optimisation phase. After optimisation, the structure is analysed using HFSS and Mode Matching. The predicted conversion efficiencies are 98.6% and 98.9% respectively.
